Two girls on horses walk past me. They are smiling and laughing. As they pass a roll of thunder sounds in the distance and I cringe. I fear for their safety but do not voice it because it is against the laws of my kind. A light rain showers my branches and I discretely pull them in closer to me. My needles sought to shield me from the now ominous rain.
Another crash of thunder is heard followed by the rhythmic hoof beats of the girls from earlier. A lightning bolt pierces the sky. I break Tree Laws and extend a silent invitation to the girls. They hurriedly take me up on my offer. I shelter them, providing safety from the elements. I extend my branches further ignoring the pelting rain and freezing wind. The trees around me glare and silently threaten to call the tree police. I ignore them.
The storm lets up and I usher the girls out from under my cover. They tear down the path and I am left alone. I curl into myself again and wait out the remainder of the storm.
real event.
Trees talk, i swear. (you just can't hear them)

I really like it. Especially the whole concept; I've never thought about that. Very uncliche, and we all know how much that's valued here.

A lightning bolt pierces the sky. I break Tree Laws and extend a silent invitation to the girls. That's lovely - and I adore the Tree Laws. :)
